My blog, Big City Art, came into being just after I moved to Vancouver in the summer of 2015. I launched onto the art scene like a kid in a candy shop and I couldn’t imagine not sharing it with everyone who would listen (including you). The transition from small town BC, to rush hour traffic and corporate job structures, was terrifying. The only thing that kept me sane was those moments – standing in front of a Picasso, or meeting an artist whose art captured my imagination – when I remembered why I moved here in the first place.
I am not an artist, I have never wanted to be an artist. But I have always been moved by art. I love watching, supporting and facilitating art in all the ways it migrates through our human structures. Creating Big City Art has offered me an outlet for participating in that process. Writing about art, and art events, has kept me moving and getting to know new people and new art venues. It’s my way of fostering my dreams and falling in love with Vancouver all at the same time.
Thanks for visiting!
